St. Joseph Woodard Community Building ‘The Woodard’

This document lays out the history, goals and the process of the community building project. The facility will be named the Ralph Woodard Community Center. The Woodard Family is donating $1.25 million to make this project happen. Other donors have made substantial gifts towards the building and will be recognized by a Founders’ Wall inside the facility. SJRF has raised approximately $1.93 million towards a goal of $3 million. Please review this report and if so inclined, please financially support SJRF by making a donation.

St. Joseph Recreation Foundation

Established in 2024, the St. Joseph Recreation Foundation (also known as “SJRF”) is a not-for-profit corporation governed by a nine-member Board of Directors who are all from St. Joseph. The SJRF was established to build and maintain a community center through private donations for indoor and outdoor events in St. Joseph, Illinois.

Five (5) acres on the east side of Community Park in St. Joseph, Illinois. This land is owned by the Village of St. Joseph and is not adjacent to residences. Center will be designed to host indoor and outdoor events. Additional lighted parking will be provided for activities and special events occurring simultaneously at the park and center.
